Please remember that if you have any questions or concerns regarding your child's progress I am a phone call, e-mail or letter away! I try to contact you within 24 hours but I am busy in the classroom as well as at home. I will get back in contact with you as soon as I can. I try to return phone calls in the evening. If this time is inconvenient or you need to speak with me A.S.A.P., please let me know. My school e-mail address is [email protected] Homework As stated in the Board of Education
Policy, each student will be responsible for reading two (2) steps or ½ hour Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at home. They will also be responsible to read 15 minutes on Saturday and Sunday for a total of 11 steps or 3 hours of reading per week. You are also responsible for completing the reading journal every night. In addition I may send home written homework in the form of a journal or workbook pages. It is very important that your child complete their homework to promote a sense of responsibility. Your child's homework may include a family project every month or the completion of incomplete class work. Pencils please...no pens J *If your child is absent, you will also be responsible for having them complete their “school” steps (2) at home in addition to their “home” steps (2). ****A HOMEWORK GRADE IS NOTED AND GIVEN ON EACH PROGRESS REPORT AND STUDENT PROFILE. |
AttendanceIf your child will not be in school, please call the school (296-1719) to let us know. It is also necessary for you to send in a note when your child returns to school. If your child will be out for an extended period of time (family vacations) and you would like homework, please give me at least 1 week to prepare work for them. Labeling Personal Belongings
Please label ALL of your child's belongings including: lunch boxes, backpacks, coats, sweaters, hats, mittens, smocks, show & share etc. There are many children with duplicate items...we want them to go home with the correct owners! If your child misplaces an item, it may end up in the Lost & Found located in the MPR.
